# Order Configurations

Also known as Task Configurations

Order configurations are sets of operational capabilities you can apply to specific sets of orders using other API operations. You can include the `id` returned as part of the `task_configuration` object when creating orders to apply the order configuration's operational capabilities.

For example, you can create order configurations that automatically add buffers for time on site, pickup, and dropoff schedules.
